Purpose of Post:

To support the development and implementation of competence and performance standards for Building Control bodies and inspectors and a revitalised building control process.

Supporting policy and legislation development, Building Safety Programme.

Key tasks:

Key Tasks

  • Support the development and establishment of new standards for building control and related professions.
  • Contribute to development of related sector guidance
  • Engagement with key internal and external stakeholders to support policy development including other government bodies, local authorities and representative bodies
  • Liaise with policy counterparts in UK Government and other devolved administrations.
  • Lead on preparation of subject related Government Business and associated briefing
  • Support the development and establishment of a new Building Control process, including work on new system requirements and the responsibilities of individuals in the process.

Development opportunities:

Your role will form part of Welsh Government’s Building Safety programme which is a high profile, fast paced area of policy development. You will work with staff at all levels including senior staff, Ministers and a range of external stakeholders.
