Our Public Service Graduates

As a graduate on this programme you will have a real job in the Welsh public service; study towards a fully funded Masters qualification; undertake a two-year development programme; access an executive coach and mentor, and embark on a career in public service. You will develop your skills and be a valued member of the team from day one.

Working for the Welsh public service is unlike any other job in Wales.  You will gain experience in a number of organisations and roles. This is a general management graduate programme.

What does the role involve?

  • Participate in a ground-breaking graduate programme that offers world class opportunities
  • A real job in the Welsh public service
  • Experience in general management roles
  • Opportunity to act on your own initiative; managing projects; delivering service improvements and helping to deliver key results for the citizens of Wales
  • Develop your knowledge of the Welsh public service and the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act and making the legislative requirements ‘real’ in Wales
  • Experience in a number of Welsh public service organisations

This is a 22 month training programme that will commence on Monday 3 September 2018 and end on Friday 7 August 2020. Progression to year 2 will be dependent upon successful completion of year 1 of the graduate programme and satisfactory performance on all elements of the programme.  It is a requirement of the graduate programme that the full 22 months are completed on the programme.  We will encourage graduates to remain in the Welsh public service for at least three years after the end of the 22 month programme.
