Purpose of Post:

Cynorthwyo Gwasanaeth Cyfieithu Llywodraeth Cymru i ddarparu gwasanaethau cyfieithu ar gyfer Llywodraeth Cymru a'i Gweinidogion, a chefnogi’r Llywodraeth i gydymffurfio â gofynion ieithyddol statudol.

  • Bydd pob uwch-gyfieithydd yn meddu ar y sgiliau iaith a’r crebwyll gwleidyddol a sefydliadol i gyfieithu, heb oruchwyliaeth, rhwng y Saesneg a’r Gymraeg.
  • Ar ôl meithrin rhywfaint o brofiad yn y swydd, disgwylir i uwch-gyfieithwyr adolygu cyfieithiadau a hyfforddi cyfieithwyr llai profiadol. Gall hyn hefyd olygu cyfrifoldebau rheoli llinell.
  • Bydd rhai uwch-gyfieithwyr yn canolbwyntio ar gyfieithu testunau cyffredinol, tra bydd y gweddill yn gweithio ar ddogfennau deddfwriaethol.
  • Gan ddibynnu ar allu a phrofiad yr unigolyn, bydd rhai uwch-gyfieithwyr hefyd yn darparu gwasanaethau cyfieithu ar y pryd (CAP).
  • Gan ddibynnu ar anghenion busnes y Gwasanaeth Cyfieithu, a chryfderau’r unigolyn, disgwylir i uwch-gyfieithwyr gyfrannu at amryw agweddau ar waith y proffesiwn, ee datblygu a chyflwyno technoleg arbenigol, caffael gwasanaethau cyfieithu a CAP, prosiectau safoni terminoleg.

Key tasks:

Cyfieithu ysgrifenedig

  • Cyfieithu heb oruchwyliaeth o’r Saesneg i’r Gymraeg ac, o bryd i’w gilydd, o’r Gymraeg i’r Saesneg. Bydd natur y testunau yn amrywio o ddogfennau polisi i sgriptiau ac areithiau, a gall y gwaith gynnwys amrediad eang o gyweiriau o’r creadigol i’r deddfwriaethol.

Sicrhau ansawdd

  • Sicrhau bod eich gwaith cyfieithu yn gywir, yn briodol ac yn cydymffurfio bob amser â chywair, arddull a therminoleg safonol y Gwasanaeth Cyfieithu ar gyfer y math o destun dan sylw.
  • Sicrhau ansawdd gwaith cyfieithwyr mewnol eraill yn ôl y galw, a chyfrannu at broses monitro ansawdd gwaith y cyflenwyr allanol a ddefnyddir dan gontract gan y Gwasanaeth Cyfieithu

Gwasanaeth i gwsmeriaid

  • Meithrin perthynas â chwsmeriaid mewn meysydd polisi gweinidogol neu dimau cyfreithiol. Bydd hyn yn golygu deall gofynion cyfieithu Llywodraeth Cymru yng nghyd-destun y Safonau Iaith Gymraeg a Rheolau Sefydlog y Senedd, deall y gweithdrefnau deddfu a’r meysydd pwnc, a mynd i’r afael â materion sy’n codi wrth drefnu gwaith cyfieithu.
  • Bod yn atebol am eich gwaith cyfieithu o’i ddechrau i’w ddiwedd, a chymryd y cyfrifoldeb am gyfathrebu’n briodol ac yn brydlon â chwsmeriaid a chydweithwyr eraill i sicrhau gwasanaeth effeithiol ac effeithlon.
  • Bod yn ymwybodol o gynulleidfaoedd targed ein cyfieithiadau, ac ystyried eu hanghenion hwythau wrth ddarparu cyfieithiadau ar ran Llywodraeth Cymru.

Arddull a therminoleg

  • Ymgyfarwyddo â’r prif egwyddorion ar gyfer safoni termau, a dilyn trefniadau gosodedig y Gwasanaeth ar gyfer paratoi, safoni a rhannu termau drwy gyfrwng TermCymru.
  • Cydweithio â chyfieithwyr ac eraill i sicrhau cysondeb arddull y Gwasanaeth Cyfieithu a chynorthwyo i ddatblygu’r canllawiau arddull a gyhoeddir ar BydTermCymru.

Technoleg Gwybodaeth a Chyfathrebu

  • Defnyddio systemau craidd y Llywodraeth, ynghyd â systemau a meddalwedd arbenigol y Gwasanaeth Cyfieithu, i’w llawn botensial o ddydd i ddydd. Mae’r systemau arbenigol yn cynnwys cof cyfieithu, system llif gwaith, system rheoli dogfennau, meddalwedd drafftio deddfwriaeth a meddalwedd fynegeio. Mae cynlluniau ar waith hefyd i ymgorffori cyfieithu peirianyddol i’r broses gyfieithu.
  • Helpu i ddatblygu’r defnydd o offer TGCh arbenigol a chadw ar drywydd y datblygiadau technolegol diweddaraf sy’n hyrwyddo prosesau cyfieithu.

Adolygu, ôl-olygu a phrawfddarllen testunau

  • Adolygu testunau a gynhyrchir gan gyd-gyfieithwyr a/neu gyfieithwyr llai profiadol, ôl-olygu testunau sydd wedi’u cynhyrchu gan gyfuniad o gof cyfieithu a chyfieithu peirianyddol, a phrawfddarllen cyfieithiadau er mwyn cyhoeddi testunau sy’n cyfateb yn y Gymraeg a’r Saesneg. 

Rheoli a datblygu cyfieithwyr llai profiadol

  • Ar ôl cyfnod o ymgynefino â’r swydd, ysgwyddo’r cyfrifoldeb o reoli, arwain a datblygu cyfieithwyr llai profiadol.

Gwirio a chynghori

  • Darparu gwasanaeth gwirio testun ar gyfer swyddogion sy’n drafftio testunau yn Gymraeg.
  • Rhoi cyngor a chanllawiau clir a safonol i swyddogion ar faterion gramadeg, arddull a therminoleg.

Cyfieithu ar y pryd

  • Gan ddibynnu ar allu a phrofiad, helpu i ddarparu gwasanaeth cyfieithu ar y pryd o’r Gymraeg i’r Saesneg mewn cyfarfodydd Gweinidogol. Bydd cyfieithwyr ar y pryd profiadol yn cyfieithu ar eu pennau eu hunain yn ôl y galw, ac yn goruchwylio a chynorthwyo cyfieithwyr ar y pryd llai profiadol.
  • Cynorthwyo ag agweddau eraill ar ddarparu gwasanaeth cyfieithu ar y pryd.

Cyffredinol

  • Gan ddibynnu ar gryfderau’r unigolyn ac anghenion busnes y Gwasanaeth, arwain a/neu gyfrannu at swyddogaethau a phrosiectau y mae’r Gwasanaeth yn ymwneud â nhw, gan gynnwys cyflwyno technolegau cyfieithu a CAP newydd, prosesau caffael gwasanaethau cyfieithu, rhoi cyflwyniadau i fyfyrwyr ac ymwelwyr.
  • Gwneud unrhyw dasg resymol arall ar gais arweinydd tîm neu reolwyr eraill y Gwasanaeth Cyfieithu.
