Purpose of Post:

To support the Senior Strategy, Policy and Engagement manager, with the development of the newly established Stakeholder Advisory Group and the development of an engagement strategy. Provide ongoing advice to HIW staff once engagement strategy is implemented.

To support the Senior Strategy, Policy and Engagement manager with stakeholder management and advising other departments in HIW on effective stakeholder working.

To oversee HIW’s approach to consultation responses, horizon scanning for relevant policy updates.

To project manage and support the production of HIW’s strategy and annual reporting.

To co-ordinate HIW’s presence at external events, managing a stand and manage any team drawn together to represent the organisation at an event.

Key tasks:

Post-specific tasks

  1. To develop and maintain working links with relevant stakeholders, externally and internally to include the Welsh Government’s Health and Social Services Group.
  • Support HIW’s approach to stakeholder working by providing advice and creating content for use in stakeholder work across the organisation.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of an engagement toolkit for HIW
  • Work with the Review team to ensure stakeholder mapping is in place at the outset of each Review and work with them to develop an engagement plan.

     2. To support HIW’s collaborative approach to driving healthcare system and service improvement. In particular to:

  • Identify and oversee HIW’s approach to consultations and policy announcements affecting health and social services with relevance to HIW.
  • To support HIW at external events which contribute to overall organisational objectives
  • Undertake research and provide briefings to help develop HIW’s policy position on current and topical issues
  • To project manage the annual reporting cycle and strategy development within HIW

Development opportunities:

This is an opportunity for a motivated individual to play a key role in Healthcare Inspectorate Wales.  The post offers the opportunity to engage with senior representatives within HIW and within wider Welsh Government, and to influence the way in which the whole of HIW works. Due to the external working required, this post is Welsh desirable.

Assessment Process
