Background:

Team: 

CIW is the independent regulator of social care and childcare. As part of Welsh Government, CIW registers, inspects and takes action to improve the quality and safety of services for the well-being of the people of Wales. 

CIW has undergone a significant change programme and moved to the provision of digital services. 

An ICT Project has led on the development and delivery of a Microsoft CRM Dynamics system to underpin CIW’s core business processes; information management and reporting. The project is continuing to develop new requirements in CRM 2011 in FY 2018-19; will migrate services to CRM 2016 in April 2019 and will handover to a Service Team’ from September to December 2019. 

Role: 

CIW are looking for someone with strong business analyses and digital process development skills as well as strong interpersonal skills that enjoys working in a delivery focused, agile environment.

As a Business Analyst you’ll have the experience and expertise from working across a range of complex and challenging digital/technology areas and be confident in using Agile tools and techniques. Working to the Service Manager in the Service Team, this post is part of the wider ‘Support Services Team’. The post holder will be required to work working closely with the digital project team until handover, leading on analysing CIW digital services and business processes to support the delivery of CIW’s digital project. 

As a Business Analyst/Technical Trainer, you will lead on ensuring that new and existing staff understand and have the resources and support required to make the best use of the CRM and its relationship with CIW Online.

Key tasks:

  • Gather business requirements and facilitate the development of business and technical solutions
  • Working on business improvement, drive the analysis, identification, prioritisation and implementation of improvements and efficiencies, thereby ensuring that the organisation derives maximum value from services. 
  • Leading on business requirements definition and the analysis of the existing business processes as part of ongoing CRM development. 
  • Development of user stories (where required) for the use in analysing the application and the associated business processes.
  • Provide support to continually ensure that a shared understanding is established amongst the development, BAU and service teams of the business requirements and how this is met by technical solutions
  • Responsibility for contributing to the development of user requirements, for managing the change control process and the configuration library/ 
  • Deliver training to ensure systems are fully understood so that staff have knowledge to use the system to optimal effect. 
  • Provide professional standard training to group and individual system users.
  • Develop and maintain training materials and deliver technical training to staff on CRM system; CIW Online and other CIW digital resources.
  • Provide guidance and advice to the service team to ensure that challenges are efficiently and effectively resolved

Contribute to evaluation and ongoing business improvements

  • Working with the Service Manager to ensure that functional and non-functional requirements are adapted to meet the needs of the business.
  • Ensure that the necessary technical governance and documentation is created and maintained.

Keep skills up to date. 

  • Managing own professional development and seeking appropriate opportunities in discussion with the Service Manager/Digital Project Manager.

This post will provide the opportunity to be part of a newly formed team providing technical development support to the design and development of CIW’s CRM. 

Your role will form part of Welsh Government’s Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) profession. This is a growing profession and you will have the opportunity to be part of shaping and growing it. .
